At 16 years old, this Standardbred gelding came to us through the RSPCA in absolutely heartbreaking condition.
What Sonic loses on looks, he more than makes up for in personality.
When he arrived, he was extremely malnourished, with every rib visible and very little condition left on him. The remarkable thing is that since arriving at Horse Shepherd, Sonic has proven to be a very good doer, highlighting just how severe his previous situation must have been.
Despite everything he has been through, Sonic remains a kind, friendly horse who enjoys human company and is easy to handle.
Now that he is regaining weight and feeling much better, we believe Sonic would make a wonderful companion horse for someone looking for a gentle friend for their existing horse.
His story is a reminder that sometimes the horses with the biggest hearts don’t always make the best first impression.
We think Sonic is pretty special.
