We noticed slight changes in Candy’s remaining eye so Candy made a visit to Dr Andrew Turner – Eye Specialist. We now know Candy was born with a significant congenital eye defect. In this eye while she still has some sight – she was born without an iris and a small cataract in the nucleus of the lens. Her retina appears normal. (in her other eye it had become detached).
This means Candy will now remain at HSES – at the moment she is loving the attention in the stables and has become best friends with Molly. We will constantly monitor her sight but going blind is a potential risk. While Candy is happy and living a quality life she will be given every opportunity.
We would love Candy to have her very own sponsor – see our website for details.
