The HSES Team

For our new supporters – we thought we would take a moment to share Team Horse Shepherd with a brief blurb on our various backgrounds and experiences which all blend to make Horse Shepherd the Rescue we love. Thank you for your support – it’s absolutely appreciated.

Board Member – Christina has loved horses for as long as she can remember. Pictured here with her adopted HSES Candy, other HSES horses Corey, Nacho, and Ginger (foster) also live with her. Christina works with victims of crime as a researcher, and is currently completing her PhD in psychology.

Founder and President Anne. A Senior Executive in a Bank – and owner of Horse Shepherd Park – Anne has dedicated the final years of her working life to building a sustainable Equine Rescue.

Board Member – Susan is no stranger to rescue! Susan founded Homeless Hounds Rescue over 12 years ago – Homeless Hounds home over 500 pets per year! Several of the dogs at HSES owe their lives to HOH! Susan has her own horse and mule and started saving horses at Echuca in the early days of horse sales.

Board Member Treasurer and Website Queen –
Hayley has always loved her fur kids and is lucky enough to have HSES Kudos and Mia as permanent residents as well as HSES Monty & Starry on foster care at the moment. She also has other horses, a donkey, cats, dog, chickens and two of the human variety as well. Hayley founded Mitchell Properties a leading Property Management Company.

Board Member and Secretary – Jodie is the newest member of the team. Jodie has spent many years working with wild life however we are quickly converting her to the Equine World. Retired from the Corporate World – Technology expert Jodie is our Help Desk!!

Chris Giles with family Lauren and Kage. We can not begin to explain how spoilt a rescue is to have a trainer with the talent of Chris on the team.

Horse Shepherd Board member Belinda Goyarts met Anne Young and they were two of the founding members of HAAP (Horses at Auction – Preview), where they rehomed over 900 horses from saleyards across Victoria.

Belinda owns Mornington Lodge Pet Resort, and runs Pugs SOS, a nationwide charity keeping pugs out of puppy farms.

Pops – Chief Chook carer for our Henny Pennies rescue, and wheelbarrow wrangler. Everyone loves Pops except Tom the Turkey!

Darren – keeps Horse Shepherd Park spic and span. Well trained horseman by his wife Anne the Vet – we are so lucky to have Darren’s help with our many patients. Darrens care has been significant in keeping Winston (40yrs old thb) happy and in good health.
