We are very excited to announce that Horse Shepherd will be working with the wonderful team at Horses for Hope.
‘Horses for Hope is a unique, powerful and challenging Equine Facilitated Therapy program delivered by UnitingCare Cutting Edge that has been operating successfully out of Shepparton Victoria since 2006, and Kinglake Victoria since 2009.
Horses for Hope clients are ordinary people experiencing extraordinary circumstances that they need help to deal with. They may be victims of abuse or other trauma such as accident or natural disaster. They may be suffering from the effects of a mental illness such as depression or an autism spectrum disorder such as Aspergers syndrome. The one thing they have in common is that Horses for Hope can help them.’
HFH ‘Gus’ is a graduate of HFH and will be coming to The Horse Shepherd Equine Sanctuary shortly after spending time with Chris Giles. Chris says ‘This horse is progressing at great speed. He has a super nature and is quick to learn and very willing. He will make someone a lovely go any were do anything mount very soon’.
Continue to follow our Facebook page and websites for updates on when Gus becomes available for adoption.
Our Brumby boy ‘Red’ is now at Horses for Hope helping young people build trust. What a wonderful opportunity for not only Red to experience human kindness and love, but for many people to experience the love and joy that a horse can bring into their lives.
